A couple of weeks ago, we saw an offer for the BIQU Panda Lux LED Upgrade at a very low price of 7€ (compared to the arguably already cheap 10€ stock price). As you can see in the featured image from BIQU’s website, the difference is almost literally night and day. And since we were never really satisfied with the lighting in the P1S, we decided to give it a try.

The installation process is quite straightforward, as you can see in this short explanation video:

It took us around 5 minutes to install the new LED bar on the printer. There was a little bit of fiddling with the connectors, but once we figured it out, it was really easy.

The pictures on the BIQU website were not lying; the difference is huge:

It’s only been a day since we installed this, but we already like it.

This is what we like:

  • It really changes how bright the inside of the printer is.
  • Powered by the original light-bar connector.
  • Seamless integration with the printer.
  • The light is very easy to install.
  • It feels solid and well-built.
  • The light is sent from the front to the back, making it easier on the eyes.

What we liked less:

  • You have to peel the protection tape off to install it. Yet, this is not a deal breaker as you can put it back, and even if you don’t, you cannot see it.

The only thing we have to see now is if this is going to last. According to BIQU, it has a lifespan of 36.000 hours. In any case, reverting to the old one is just plugging out and in a couple of connectors so we are not taking any risks here.

Let us know in the comments if you also bought one and how it turned out for you.
